Demolition of Fire StationThe final stage of the demolition of County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service’s old fire station on Watling Road, Bishop Auckland was completed today.

The training tower which has dominated the local skyline for over half a century was raised to the ground during the controlled demolition.

Fire Service Warn of Bogus Callers

County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service are urging residents and business owners to be vigilant to the dangers of bogus callers pretending to be from the Fire Service.

As part of the Service’s community safety role, firefighters and Community Safety Officers offer advice to residents on how to reduce the risk from fire in your home, which could include a visit to the property. Some residents may also receive a request to take part in a quality assurance check conducted by the Headquarter Community Safety Team to help improve the service provided to the community.

The Service responded to an automatic fire alarm call indicating that there was a fire in a first floor flat in the Red Hall Estate of Darlington

County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service responded to an automatic fire alarm call indicating that there was a fire in a first floor flat in the Red Hall estate of Darlington  

The Service received the call at 16:13 hours on Saturday 24th July. Crews from Darlington Fire Station attended the incident and were on the scene in less than 6 minutes.
