Overview
The County Durham and Darlington Civil Contingencies Unit (CCU) officially came into existence on 14 July 2005. The CCU, formerly known as the Emergency Planning Unit, co-located with the Fire and Rescue Service since 1994, has a team of very professional Officers experienced in emergency planning as well as business continuity management.
The CCU provides an emergency planning service to the nine local authorities within County Durham and Darlington; consisting of 4 broad functions being:
- Emergency Planning
- Business Continuity Management
- Operations
- Training and Exercising
