All staff who will be required to undertake the role of Fire Warden/Marshal but have not previously undertaken any formal training.
Aims of Course
To provide participants with a greater awareness and understanding of the threat posed by fire, their personal responsibility in preventing an outbreak where they work and, on the action to be taken should one occur. The course will also provide staff with the knowledge and understanding to undertake the role of a Fire Warden/Marshal.
On completion of the course, participants will:
- Have developed a greater awareness of the hazards of fire;
- Distinguish between the different types of extinguisher and the fires for which they are suitable;
- Tackle small fires with confidence as a result of hands-on training;
- Understand the role of fire wardens / marshals; and
- Understand the nature of fire and how it spreads.
