Fire Service Training Trauma Care/First Aider We train our firefighters to deal with first aid problems and they receive an HSE validated First Aid at Work certificate if they successfully complete the four-day course.
Over the past few years we have also introduced Trauma Care to our firefighters so that they are equipped to deliver quality patient care at an early stage at an incident.
The Trauma Care course lasts five days and covers use of oxygen, airway and respiratory management, mechanisms of injury, head trauma, spinal trauma, thoracic trauma, abdominal related trauma and hypothermia.
