Safety in the Home & Community Community Safety Partnership Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs)
The LSPs are made up of County Council Members, District Council Members, Business Representatives, Community Groups, Mainstream Service Providers and Chairpersons of groups such as Primary Health Care Trust or Community Safety Partnerships and, other interested parties. They provide a forum where strategic decisions are made that affect that District, they are District Council led and cover issues including:
- Economic Development;
- Employment;
- Education;
- Local Services;
- Community Safety;
- Health;
- Drug Action Teams (DAT); and
- Housing.
Community Safety Partnership (CSPs) - Crime Reduction
The Chairperson of the District CSP attends all LSP meetings as the CSP is an integral part of the LSP. CSPs are operational or "doing" groups which concentrate on community safety issues. CSPs are made up of smaller "Task Groups" such as:
- Vehicle Crime;
- Domestic Violence;
- Anti Social Behaviour;
- Young Persons Group; and
- Burglary.
CSPs are made up of the Chairpersons of the above task groups and, representatives of organisations such as DISC, Community Network, Local Business, Durham County Council Community Safety, Local Town Council Representatives, Education Welfare, Primary Health Care, Mainstream Service Providers etc.
In most cases, dependent on the CSP, it brings together the organisations/service providers required to deliver the Community Safety Partnership plan/strategy.
