Policies, Plans & Procedures Electronic Service Delivery Electronic Service Delivery (ESD) otherwise known as e-Government and the Fire Service and, more formally as e-Fire, forms part of the Government’s modernisation agenda for Fire and Rescue Services. It aims to ensure that the services we provide are more electronically accessible to citizens thus, making service provision more effective and efficient.
E-Fire states that, by 31st December 2005, interactions that are legally permissible for electronic delivery should be 100% enabled. Currently, we are performing well against this target (88%) and aim to e-enable 100% of services/interactions by December 2005.
In addition e-Fire requires Fire Authorities to submit an annual Implementing Electronic Government (IEG) Statement that summarises their vision for ESD. You can read our current IEG 3 Statement (2003-04). In addition you can view our IEG 2 Statement (2002-03).
